| For many years the school was a first school in the Merton 3-tier
system, with children moving on, after Year 3, to middle schools
elsewhere in the borough. Since reorganisation of the borough's
schools in 2002 we are now an all-through primary where children
who join our thriving Nursery are able to stay until they move
on to secondary school at the end of Year 6.
Although we are only 5 minutes
walk from busy Morden town centre with its Tube and Bus
Station, the school is set in a quiet
residential area. At the
rear of the school there is a playground, a large playing field, a
nature reserve, which we call
The Wild Area
, and a
multi-sports court
,
which the children know as "The Multi", and our latest development, the
Outdoor Classroom
.
Beyond these is
a large public park to which we have direct access
through the multi-sports court (by way of a gate that is
normally kept locked). The multi-sports court, the
outdoor classroom and the wild area were converted from
a row of tennis courts that had long ago fallen into disrepair.
Swine Flu
advice from the London Borough of Merton:
Many
parents still have concerns about what to do
about swine flu so we are asking schools
to include the following web link on their
school Internet pages.
This
site contains useful information for parents in
a helpful question and answer format.
